Itinerary
After breakfast, we dedicate the day to exploring the captivating region of Merzouga, known for its stunning sand dunes, serene wild lake, ancient mines, fossil sites, and lush oases—perfect for a variety of outdoor adventures.
We begin with an off-road drive to visit an old eyeliner mine, followed by a visit to a nomadic family in their traditional woven tent, where you’ll enjoy Berber tea and learn about their way of life. Next, we head to the vibrant village of Khamlia, home to residents with roots in sub-Saharan countries like Mali, Sudan, and Niger. Here, you'll experience the soulful Gnaoua music and dance performances.
After a leisurely lunch at a local restaurant, we’ll stroll through a picturesque palm grove and then visit the nearby wild lake of Merzouga, also known as Flamingos Lake, a haven for migratory birds.
In the afternoon, switch to camels and journey across the golden sands, stopping atop a towering dune to witness the breathtaking sunset. Your adventure concludes at a luxury desert camp, where you can enjoy Berber drum music, dance around a campfire, and marvel at the starlit sky. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Waking up early is essential to witness the breathtaking sunrise in the heart of the desert—a truly unforgettable experience. After enjoying breakfast, you'll ride camels back to Merzouga, where your driver will be waiting.
Depending on your flight schedule, we will leave the desert to visit Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet and a key trading hub in the region. Stroll through Rissani’s vibrant souk before continuing to Erfoud, where we’ll tour a workshop specializing in fossilized marble.
Our journey then takes us to Errachidia, with stops along the way to admire panoramic views, including the stunning Ziz Valley. Finally, we arrive at Errachidia Airport, marking the end of your desert adventure.
