Itinerary
After breakfast, the day is dedicated to exploring the captivating region of Merzouga. This area boasts incredible attractions, including towering sand dunes, a wild lake, ancient mines, fossil sites, and lush oases—perfect for a variety of outdoor adventures.
The journey begins with an off-road drive to an old eyeliner mine. Next, we visit nomads in their traditional woven tents, where you can experience their unique lifestyle while sipping Berber tea. The adventure continues to Khamlia village, renowned for its vibrant Gnaoua music and dance performances, a cultural treasure brought by its inhabitants from countries like Mali, Sudan, and Niger. After a break for lunch at a local restaurant, we take a peaceful stroll through a palm grove and visit the wild lake of Merzouga, also known as Flamingos Lake.
In the afternoon, the journey transforms as you mount a camel to traverse the golden dunes of the Sahara. A stop atop a high dune provides a breathtaking view of the sunset before continuing to a luxury desert camp. Here, you’ll enjoy traditional Berber drum music, dance by the campfire, and gaze at the vast, star-filled sky. Dinner and an overnight stay at the camp complete this unforgettable day.
After breakfast, we depart the desert to explore Rissani, once the ancient capital of Tafilalet. This vibrant town remains a significant trading hub, particularly lively during its market days on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
Following a stroll through the bustling Rissani Souk, we head to Erfoud to visit a workshop specializing in fossilized marble. Our journey then takes us through the lush palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad, leading to the breathtaking Todra Gorges. Carved by the Todra River, this dramatic canyon features towering red cliffs, making it a favorite spot for rock climbers. Take time to wander the gorges and marvel at the striking scenery. Lunch is enjoyed at a local restaurant.
Next, we proceed to the scenic Dades Valley via Boumalne Dades, stopping at iconic landmarks like the “Monkey Fingers” rock formation and a panoramic viewpoint offering stunning views of the valley. The day concludes with dinner and an overnight stay in a comfortable hotel.
On the final day of your 4-day desert tour in Morocco, we journey to Kalaa Magouna to explore the picturesque Rose Valley, famous for its annual Rose Festival held in May. During the festival, locals showcase a variety of rose products, including perfumes, rose water, oils, and cosmetics.
Next, we travel through the lush palm groves of Skoura, arriving in Ouarzazate, often called the "Gateway to the Desert." Here, we visit the renowned film studios where numerous iconic movies were filmed.
Our adventure continues to the legendary Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This fortified village has served as the backdrop for famous films such as Gladiator, Alexander, and The Mummy, as well as the TV series Game of Thrones.
We then proceed to Marrakesh, driving through the Tizi-N-Tichka pass and the stunning High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, there will be stops for lunch and photography at scenic spots. Upon arrival in Marrakesh, we’ll drop you off at your accommodation or the airport, marking the end of this unforgettable tour.
