After breakfast, the day is dedicated to exploring the enchanting Merzouga region, brimming with breathtaking sites. From golden sand dunes and a wild lake to ancient mines, fossil areas, and lush oases, this area offers endless opportunities for adventure.
The journey begins with an off-road drive to an ancient eyeliner mine. Next, we visit nomads in their handmade woven tents, where you’ll experience their way of life while sipping traditional Berber tea. Our adventure continues to Khamlia village, home to descendants of sub-Saharan communities like Mali, Sudan, and Niger. Here, you’ll enjoy lively Gnaoua music and captivating dance performances. Afterward, enjoy a leisurely lunch at a local restaurant.
Following lunch, take a scenic stroll through a grove of palm trees and visit the nearby wild lake of Merzouga, also known as Flamingos Lake.
In the afternoon, hop on a camel for a memorable journey across the sand dunes. Pause atop a towering dune to marvel at the magical desert sunset before heading to a luxury desert camp. After enjoying some free time for breakfast, you’ll return to Merzouga on camels, where your driver will be waiting. Departing the desert, we journey west through the lush palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad, arriving at the spectacular Todra Gorges. This natural wonder features towering red cliffs carved by the Todra River, creating a breathtaking canyon.
Continuing the journey, we drive past charming Kasbahs and palm-filled valleys, reaching Ouarzazate, where you’ll have free time for lunch.
The next stop is the iconic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a backdrop for numerous movies and TV series like Gladiator, The Mummy, and Game of Thrones.
